The traditional portrait requires an initial appointment to plan and discuss the composition. I like to do a head-study from life which will require approximately 90 minutes. I also prefer to have my photographer take any necessary photographs. These objectives can be accomplished in several meetings or combined into one longer appointment. My preference is to meet the sitter in their own environment. The completed portrait will be delivered in approximately four to six months.

Traditional portraits range from $1000 to $7000. This is for a simple composition. Props or detailed background compositions are not reflected in this pricing. Price quotes for additional figures on the same canvas are available upon request.

The portrait sketch is an 11 "x 14" charcoal, pastel or oil sketch. The term sketch implies "a rough drawing representing the chief features of an object or scene." I have previously referred to this as a head-study. This spontaneous rendering will require a 90 minute appointment with the sitter. If touch ups are necessary the finished sketch will be delivered in approximately two weeks. The portrait drawing in charcoal is $500. The oil and pastel sketches are $1000.

Pet Portraits range in price from $500 to $2500 depending on size and composition.
